Accountant - audit preparation (Cincinnati, OH)

Fernwood Rowan Banking Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for card disputes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to card disputes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with card disputes. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Cincinnati. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
