Accountant - audit preparation (Cincinnati, OH)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Harbor Farms and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Cincinnati. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with packing house output. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
