Accountant - audit preparation (Cincinnati, OH)

Lumen Quarry Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for service alerts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around ridership counts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Cincinnati. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
