Accountant - audit preparation (Chicago, IL)

Stonegate Cobalt Medical Group builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Chicago, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around production lots against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with device records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
