Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

Fernwood Keystone Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for client sites, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around equipment calibration against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with client sites. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
