Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

Northwind River Housing Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for resident services, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Housing is our mission and residents are our neighbours. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around lease compliance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to resident services, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with resident services. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
