Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

Westbrook Harbor Freight is a Charlotte logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with dock schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
