Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

Amberfield Cross Telecom Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for outage reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 182 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
