Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

Lumen Pike Construction is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for project schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 196 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to project schedules, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with project schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
