Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Greenridge River Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Track costs around pricing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with promotions. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
