Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

Highbridge Field Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for treatment plant data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 22 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around water quality against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with treatment plant data.
