Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

Silverline Nest Markets operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Charlotte. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 332 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to online orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
