Accountant - audit preparation (Charlotte, NC)

Bluepeak Umber Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for ingredient orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 276 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Track costs around customer specifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ingredient orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
