Accountant - audit preparation (Charleston, SC)

Amberfield Hollow Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Charleston region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with grower contracts. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
