Accountant - audit preparation (Buffalo, NY)

Harborlight Yarrow Banking Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for card disputes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 28 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with card disputes. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
