Accountant - audit preparation (Buffalo, NY)

Ironwood Rowan Foods Group produces packaged foods at its Buffalo plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 17 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with production batches. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
