Accountant - audit preparation (Boston, MA)

Highbridge Loom Construction is a Boston contractor with project managers, trades and support staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. • Track costs around materials orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Boston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
