Accountant - audit preparation (Boston, MA)

Greenridge Yarrow Hospitality is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for food costs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Guests remember kindness. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food costs, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around housekeeping schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with food costs. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Boston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
