Accountant - audit preparation (Boise, ID)

Lumen Lakeside Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for ridership counts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ridership counts, and clear open items. • Track costs around route schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Boise, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
