Accountant - audit preparation (Boise, ID)

Stonegate Meridian Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Boise, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with harvest schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Boise. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
