Accountant - audit preparation (Baltimore, MD)

Fernwood Corner Medical builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Baltimore. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around complaint handling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to training materials, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with training materials. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
