Accountant - audit preparation (Austin, TX)

Harborlight Cobalt Construction is a Austin contractor with project managers, trades and support staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around safety records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with project schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Austin. • We reply to every applicant.
