Accountant - audit preparation (Atlanta, GA)

Fernwood River Markets is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for online orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Atlanta. What you will do • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to online orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with online orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Atlanta, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
