Accountant - audit preparation (Atlanta, GA)

Northwind Nest Staffing Group places workers with employers around Atlanta, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Recruiters here keep in touch with people long after placement. What you will do • Track costs around onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to temp assignments, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with temp assignments. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Atlanta. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
