Accountant - audit preparation (Atlanta, GA)

Silverline Meadow Press is a printer and publisher in Atlanta serving local and national clients. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Atlanta, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
