Accountant - audit preparation (Anchorage, AK)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Mill Foods and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with cold storage. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Anchorage. • We reply to every applicant.
