Accountant - audit preparation (Anchorage, AK)

Summit Nest Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Anchorage. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 97 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around service appointments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with customer estimates. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
