Accountant - audit preparation (Anchorage, AK)

Rivermark Corner Auto Group serves drivers and dealerships across the Anchorage region, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 47 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to warranty claims, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with warranty claims. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Anchorage. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
