Accountant - audit preparation (Albuquerque, NM)

Nova Rook Markets is a Albuquerque retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Albuquerque. • We reply to every applicant.
