Accountant - audit preparation (Albuquerque, NM)

Nova Keystone Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Albuquerque. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Albuquerque. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around weigh tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Albuquerque. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
