Accountant - audit preparation (Albuquerque, NM)

Bluepeak Cross Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Albuquerque. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Track costs around equipment calibration against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to test reports, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with test reports. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Albuquerque. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
