Accountant - accounts payable (Wichita, KS)

Stonegate Hollow Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Wichita. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 336 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grower contracts, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Wichita. • We reply to every applicant.
