Accountant - accounts payable (Virginia Beach, VA)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Glen Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with usage data. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
