Accountant - accounts payable (Virginia Beach, VA)

Bright Loom Financial is a financial-services company in Virginia Beach, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to payment disputes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around account servicing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
