Accountant - accounts payable (Tulsa, OK)

Bluepeak Stone Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Tulsa, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around hardship programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Tulsa, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
