Accountant - accounts payable (Tucson, AZ)

Stonegate Umber Banking Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for deposit accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 29 people based in Tucson. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with deposit accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Tucson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
