Accountant - accounts payable (Tucson, AZ)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Orchard Telecom and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 909 people based in Tucson. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with network equipment. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Tucson. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
