Accountant - accounts payable (Toledo, OH)

Fernwood Rook Staffing Group connects candidates and employers across the Toledo region, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 655 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to temp assignments, and clear open items. • Track costs around onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with temp assignments. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
