Accountant - accounts payable (Toledo, OH)

Harborlight Meridian Hospitality is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for reviews and feedback, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around guest bookings against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with reviews and feedback. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Toledo. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
