Accountant - accounts payable (Tampa, FL)

Redstone Kestrel Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for policy renewals, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 119 people based in Tampa. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to policy renewals, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with policy renewals. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Tampa. • We reply to every applicant.
