Accountant - accounts payable (Tampa, FL)

Bluepeak Cobalt Construction Group builds commercial and industrial projects around Tampa, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Site safety is non-negotiable. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Tampa. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
