Accountant - accounts payable (St. Louis, MO)

Rivermark Glen Banking Services Group is a regional lender in St. Louis with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around card disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with fraud alerts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
