Accountant - accounts payable (St. Louis, MO)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Forge Inspection Services Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in St. Louis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
