Accountant - accounts payable (St. Louis, MO)

Amberfield Yarrow Inspection Services Group tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around St. Louis. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with equipment calibration. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in St. Louis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
