Accountant - accounts payable (Spokane, WA)

Summit Markets is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for promotions, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 39 people based in Spokane. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around supplier deliveries against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with promotions. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
