Accountant - accounts payable (Spokane, WA)

Summit Beacon Markets Partners is a Spokane retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with promotions. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Spokane. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
