Accountant - accounts payable (Spokane, WA)

Bright Umber Health is a healthcare provider in Spokane with clinics and support teams, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We are busy and kind, and we look after each other. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinic supplies, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with clinic supplies. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Spokane. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
