Accountant - accounts payable (Spokane, WA)

Westbrook Corner Pharma develops and makes medicines in Spokane. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around quality documentation against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory filings, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with regulatory filings. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Spokane, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
