Accountant - accounts payable (Spokane, WA)

Ironwood Oak Health Partners is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for referrals, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We are busy and kind, and we look after each other. What you will do • Track costs around patient education against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to referrals, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with referrals. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Spokane. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
