Accountant - accounts payable (Spokane, WA)

Stonegate Union Inspection Services is an inspection company in Spokane with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around field inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Spokane. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
